Design coaching by ISI Yogyakarta Product Design Lecturers with 12 furniture entrepreneurs and craftsmen who are members of HIMKI DIY<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

DESPRO NEWS<\/strong> (July 14, 2022) In preparation for the exhibition of furniture products at the event Indonesia International Furniture Expo (IFEX) 2022<\/a>a group of lecturers from ISI Yogyakarta's Product Design study program organized design coaching<\/em> to furniture entrepreneurs and craftsmen who are members of the Indonesian Furniture and Handicraft Industry Association (HIMKI) in the Yogyakarta region. Twelve participants, namely Agilcraft Indonesia<\/a>, Dekayu Indonesia<\/a>, Gandok Craft<\/a>, Gurat Asri Indokreasi, Jayna Asia<\/a>, Kay Nusa Bihaka<\/a>, K-Nez Sejahtera<\/a>, Rewo-Rewo Furniture<\/a>, Selaras Kayu Indonesia, Tropical Homedeco<\/a>, Wastraloka<\/a>, and Woodeco <\/a>who have passed the curation to participate in IFEX 2022 attended this activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Initiation design coaching<\/em> originated from the idea of one of ISI Yogyakarta's Product Design lecturers, Nor Jayadi, S.Sn., M.A. who has indeed been active in the furniture business world and is active in HIMKI in addition to his academic activities as a lecturer. The purpose of this activity is as a forum for sharing design knowledge in order to increase the output and innovation of product designs produced by furniture entrepreneurs and craftsmen. Located in the 2nd Floor Seminar Room of the ISI Yogyakarta Product Design Study Program, design coaching<\/em> It was opened by remarks from the Chairperson of ISI Yogyakarta's Product Design Study Program, Dr. Rahmawan Dwi Prasetya, S.Sn., M.Si. as well as the Board of Trustees of DPP HIMKI and DPD HIMKI DIY, Bambang Wijaya, S.E.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The activity continued with the presentation of material on the latest trends in furniture and craft design by Nor Jayadi, S.Sn., M.A. In addition, the participants were also provided with insights into competitor analysis and references to similar product design innovations by Sekar Adita, S.Sn., M.Sn. and Nandang Septian, M.Ds. After the presentation of the material, the participants were divided into two groups focusing on furniture and crafts or craft<\/em>. In this session, participants focused on discussing with the lecturers as coach<\/em> to get insight<\/em> related to product development and preparation display<\/em> in the IFEX 2022 event. The ISI Yogyakarta Product Design Study Program lecturers who accompanied as coach<\/em> were Endro Tri Susanto, S.Sn., M.Sn., Anugrah A. Pratama, S.Sn., M.A., Dede Affian Surya, S.Ds., M.Sn., Patrisius Edi P., S.T., M.Sc., Baridah Mutmainah, S.Ds., M.Des., Silvya Bintang A. C., S.Ds., M.Ds., including Kaprodi and three lecturers who had previously presented the material. The first agenda design coaching<\/em> took place on Thursday, July 14, 2022 and will become a regular weekly activity until the day of IFEX 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
