PT Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM) is the Brand Holder Agent (APM) of Daihatsu in Indonesia. With an installed production capacity of 530,000 units per year, ADM is the automotive industry with the largest installed production capacity in Indonesia. The production capacity is achieved through its five plants, namely Sunter Assembly Plant, Sunter Press Plant, Karawang Casting Plant, Karawang Engine Plant and Karawang Assembly Plant, and supported by a spare parts center in Cibitung. Its products include Xenia, Terios, Gran Max, Hi-Max, Luxio, Astra Daihatsu Ayla and Astra Daihatsu Sigra, which are produced at ADM plants, plus Daihatsu Sirion imported from Malaysia and Daihatsu Copen which is an imported product from Japan. The production capacity and product diversity cannot be separated from the support of ADM's facilities. In addition to having a Research & Development Center (R&D Center) that actively conducts innovation breakthroughs, ADM also complements it with a design studio for making new product mock-ups, test course for vehicle testing on more than 20 types of simulated road conditions found in the country, and facilities Engineering Centerr which serves to provide quality assurance of the products produced.

In this R&D Center, competent personnel are needed, most of whom are product design graduates. In this context, ADM feels the need to explore the possibility of cooperation with ISI Yogyakarta's Product Design Study Program. In addition to the recruitment of automotive product designers, it is also possible to organize automotive design workshops to foster the interest of Product Design students to be interested in the automotive world. In addition, it is also possible to conduct a curriculum review in the Product Design Study Program, especially courses that lead to the automotive field. Even the possibility to present guest lecturers from ADM is also wide open.

The meeting was continued in the Rectorate Meeting Room, 3rd Floor Rectorate Building to discuss the MoU in more detail. In the follow-up meeting, ISI Yogyakarta was represented by the Head of BAAKPSI (Bureau of Academic Administration, Student Affairs, Planning, and Information Systems), Dra. R.A. Esti Hapsari Saptiasih and Heri Abi Burachman Hakim, M.IP., from the ISI Yogyakarta cooperation unit.
