
DESPRO NEWS (August 19, 2022) Dozens of lecturers and heads of Product Design study programs (prodi) delegates from 27 universities throughout Indonesia who are members of the ADPII Product Design Study Program Forum attended the National Convention for Product Design Scientific Vision at the Rectorate Senate Conference Room, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Sukolilo Campus, Surabaya. The activity was intended to formulate a scientific vision for the National Product Design Study Program based on the strengths of each study program. The national convention held Thursday-Friday, August 18-19, 2022 is the first part of the planned 2-part National Convention. The results of the 1st National Convention will be continued to the 2nd National Convention which will be held at the Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta Campus in October 2022.
The formulation of this scientific vision aims to make it easier for each Product Design study program to synergize, cooperate, and collaborate with other Product Design study programs so that it is hoped that it can further advance the field of Indonesian Product Design and is in line with the government's policy of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MKBM).
The activity, which lasted from morning to afternoon, was guided by 5 ADPII Product Design Study Program Forum Experts, namely Achmad Syarief, M.Ds., Ph.D. (ITB / Chairman), Dr. Andry Masri, M.Sn. (ITENAS), Dr. Y. Martinus Pasaribu, M.Sn. (ITB), Dr. Rahmawan D. Prasetya, M.Si. (ISIYK), Ellya Zulaikha, M.Ds., Ph.D. (ITS), and Dr. M. Junaedi Hidayat, M.D. (ITATS). Present and giving a speech, as well as officially opening the event, was the Dean of the Faculty of Creative Design and Digital Business (FDKBD) ITS, Imam Baihaqi, ST, M.Sc., Ph.D. From the convention participants, there were delegates from Surabaya (ITS, ITATS, Ubaya, Undika, ISTTS), Yogyakarta (ISI Yogyakarta, UKDW), Purwokerto (ITTP), Bandung (ITB, ITENAS, Tel-U, ITHB), Bekasi (ITSB), Tasikmalaya (UPI Tasikmalaya) Jakarta (UPM, UPJ, UEU, Univ Paramadina, Univ Trilogi, West Sumatra (ISI Padangpanjang), Samarinda (Polnes), and Bali (ISI Denpasar). The Product Design Study Program, Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta itself in this activity sent 1 of its lecturers, namely Endro Tri Susanto, S.Sn., M.Sn.***.
