ISI Yogyakarta's Despro Cooperation Pilot with Bioindustries

DESPRO NEWS (November 26, 2019) Bioindustries is a manufacturing company in Indonesia that specializes in the development of products water based paint and coating (water-based paints and paint coatings), glue adhesive (adhesive glue), as well as various safe and environmentally friendly industrial chemicals (green chemicals) to support the needs of the wood craft industry (woodworking)furniture, handicrafts, toys, architecture, interior design. Bioindustries realizes that one of the potential users of its products is the product designer. Because through their knowledge of materials, including finishing materials, product designers will always choose the best for each of their works. For this reason, Bioindustries feels the need to invite the cooperation of the Product Design Study Program (Despro) of Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta as an institution that produces graduates of prospective product designers. Several times Bioindustries came and held finishing workshops targeting students of Despro ISI Yogyakarta. In the workshop, the opportunity for students to get to know and apply Bioindustries products to their design works is wide open.

Given the importance of these activities, Bioindustries and the Product Design Study Program agreed to hold a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The MoU is used as an umbrella so that activities that will be carried out in the future are stronger and more directed. In that context, 2 representatives from Bioindustries, namely Didik Wasono and Fathonah from the Bioinstitute Division (one of the Bioindustries divisions that handles education) came to meet the Secretary of the ISI Yogyakarta Product Design Study Program, Nor Jayadi, S.Sn., M.A. in the Living Room of the Product Design Building Level 1, Jl Parangtritis KM 6.5 Sewon-Bantul, Yogyakarta. After discussing for a while, accompanied by 2 other lecturers, Rahmawan D. Prasetya, S.Sn., M.Si. and Endro Trisusanto, S.Sn., M.Sn. they then met the Head of the Product Design Program. BAAKPSI (Bureau of Academic Administration, Student Affairs, Planning, and Information Systems)Dra. R.A. Esti Hapsari Saptiasih and staff. The meeting was held in the Head Room BAAKPSI Rectorate Building 2nd floor. During the meeting, both parties agreed to follow up the cooperation initiative by drafting an MoU to be agreed upon and signed by both parties.
