Visit to SWU, Bangkok, Thailand

DESPRO NEWS (September 20, 2017) In order to expand networking between universities, for 5 consecutive days, from 13 - 17 September 2017, the Product Design Study Program of Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta traveled to Bangkok, Thailand. Two lecturers, Dra. RAMM Pandansari Kusumo, M.Sn. and Nor Jayadi, S.Sn., M.A. along with 3 ISI Yogyakarta Product Design students, Sarah Widia Isyafitri, Ahmad Miftah Fahmi and Agatha Vania Ananda left for Srinakharinwirot University (SWU), Bangkok, Thailand.

The delegation was received by the Assistant Dean for Field 3 Dr. Meeta, Head of SWU's Foreign Relations Unit, Dr. Nuttika S. and Teaching Staff Dr. Surasak. During the visit, in addition to seeing the facilities and lecture process in the Product Design Department and exchanging ideas with SWU academics, a workshop on making textile products using the Tye-die technique as a product design material was also scheduled. The workshop was held on the second day involving 24 SWU product design students, accompanied by 2 supervisors, Yosakrai Saithong and Dr. Aran Wanichakron. Acting as a resource person and instructor in the workshop, Dra. RAMM Pandansari Kusumo, M.Sn. who was assisted by the team. The students participating in the workshop seemed enthusiastic about participating in the workshop until the end of the event. Each of them produced one piece of tye dye batik cloth of their own work.
