Community Service Activities of Despro ISIYK Lecturers 2016

img-20161021-wa0001aimg-20161021-wa0003aDESPRO NEWS (October 19, 2016) In order to apply knowledge in the field of Product Design, 4 lecturers of the ISI Yogyakarta Product Design Study Program submitted 2 proposals for Community Service activities in the MSME Development Program. In an announcement released by the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) ISI Yogyakarta, October 13, 2016 yesterday, the two proposals were selected along with 13 other proposals to be funded and implemented until November 2016. The MSME Development Activity proposal entitled "Development of Product Design Made from Shell Waste in UMKM Kerang Wijaya, Bantul, DIY" submitted by Rahmawan D. Prasetya, S.Sn., M.Si. and Norjayadi, S.Sn., M.A. will conduct coaching activities in the field of design so that more diverse product design innovations emerge. Meanwhile, the proposal submitted by RA Sekartaji S.Sn., M.Sn., and Dra. RAMM Pandansari K., M.Sn. entitled "Improving Packaging and Product Design of Ferry Fadilah Batik in Pucung Hamlet, Pendowoharjo Village, Sewon District, Bantul, Yogyakarta" emphasizes more on coaching in terms of batik product packaging design.

The implementation of these activities began on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 which was marked by a "drop-off" event to the target MSME locations this afternoon separately. The handover ceremony was carried out by the LPPM team and related lecturers accompanied by the respective Village Heads at the local Village Office. The activity itself is planned to end on November 30, 2016.
