DESPRO NEWS (December 08, 2015) On Monday, December 07, 2015 yesterday, 3 lecturers of Despro (Product Design Study Program) ISI Yogyakarta attended the Regional Conference of AMKRI DIY to fulfill the invitation of the Regional Executive Board of the Indonesian Furniture and Craft Association (AMKRI) DIY at Harper Mangkubumi Hotel, Jl P. Mangkubumi 52, Yogyakarta. The three lecturers who attended were Drs. Baskoro Indro Banindro, MSn., Dra. RA.MM. Pandansari Kusumo, and Rahmawan D. Prasetya, SSn, MSi.
In her speech, the Chairperson, Hj Indah Rahayu Murnihati, SE said that AMKRI DIY is determined to continue to develop itself to face an increasingly competitive situation, especially if it is associated with the AEC (ASEAN Economic Community) which took effect on January 1, 2016. Various efforts have been made to deal with it, including organizing a Regional Conference to determine the association's policy direction as well as determining the new regional board. Another effort is to develop the products of small and medium industries in the field of furniture and handicrafts in the Special Region of Yogyakarta by cooperating with the ISI Yogyakarta Product Design Study Program to help develop the design of its products to be more competitive. Currently, ISI Yogyakarta's Product Design Study Program is preparing a Design Clinic to collaborate more intensely with AMKRI DIY.
