DESPRO NEWS(October 23, 2015) Realizing the increasing importance of the industrial product designer profession in Yogyakarta, ADPII (Alliance of Indonesian Industrial Product Designers) members who live in Yogyakarta and surrounding areas, on Thursday, October 22, 2015 yesterday agreed to organize the management of ADPII Chapter Yogyakarta. An important agenda in the meeting was the preparation of the region to participate in the ADPII National Work Meeting which will be held in Bandung, November 14, 2015. In addition, in order to map and further empower the industrial product design potential of Yogyakarta and its surroundings, the members agreed to form the ADPII Yogyakarta chapter. As a start, the forum appointed 3 active ADPII members to become the ADPII Yogyakarta board. They are Kristian Oentoro, S.Ds., M.Ds. (Chairman), Rahmawan D. Prasetya, S.Sn., M.Si. (Secretary), and Bertha Bintari Wahyujati, S.T., M.T., MAID. (Treasurer). As the core committee, they are assigned to prepare a broader organizational structure of ADPII Yogyakarta in accordance with the characteristics of Yogyakarta and its surrounding areas.
The event was held at the Product Design Campus of Duta Wacana Christian University (UKDW) and was attended by 8 people from Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta (ISIYK), Sanata Dharma University (USD), and UKDW itself. Present at the event were 2 lecturers of the ISI Yogyakarta Product Design Study Program, Drs. Baskoro Suryo Banindro, M.Sn. (Head of ISI YK Product Design Study Program) and Rahmawan D. Prasetya, S.Sn., M.Si.
