World Industrial Design Day (WIDD) is celebrated annually on June 29 as a recognition of the profession in the field of industrial product design. In Indonesia, Industrial Design is translated as Product Design or Industrial Product Design. The World Industrial Product Design Day was first declared in 2007 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of The International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID). Its aim is to promote awareness of the industrial product design profession and facilitate collaborations that help highlight the impact of industrial product design on economic, social, cultural and environmental quality of life around the world.
Whether we realize it or not, industrial product design affects us all. This relates to the products we use in our daily lives. From the simple and seemingly trivial, such as spoons, forks, knives, and so on, to the complicated and 'sophisticated' products such as gadgets, cars, and so on. It's all about inventing solutions that make our lives easier. That help us live our lives and at the same time improve our quality of life. For this reason, World Industrial Product Design Day should be dedicated to everyone on this earth.
